Senior Account Executive, Public Relations

Location: Boston, MA    |    Department:     |      Job Type: Full Time

CTP is looking for a Senior Account Executive in Public Relations.

We are a values-driven agency that thrives on collaborating with talented individuals who bring a team-oriented mindset. Our work moves quickly, and we are committed to delivering smart, creative solutions with impact.

We work with organizations shaping consequential issues across clean energy, healthcare, community banking, social enterprise, and sports. Our teams move quickly, think strategically, and hold a high bar for execution. We believe strong communications start with clarity of purpose and succeed through disciplined storytelling, smart positioning, and focused media engagement.

We’re seeking a driven PR professional with 3–5 years of experience who is ready to take on greater ownership across accounts and contribute to high-impact communications programs. In this role, you will support day-to-day account execution while bringing a proactive mindset — identifying opportunities, advancing storylines, and helping translate business objectives into clear, effective communications.

You’ll play a central role in developing and executing earned media programs — from shaping narratives and drafting materials to pitching media and securing coverage. This role requires strong news instincts, sharp writing skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate with both speed and precision in a fast-moving environment.

In this role, CTP is looking for someone who will contribute to our agency’s success by:

  • Owning day-to-day execution across accounts, ensuring momentum, quality, and results
  • Developing and leading communications initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and clients
  • Identifying timely opportunities and turning them into compelling, relevant storylines
  • Writing with clarity and authority across formats (pitches, press releases, op-eds, messaging, etc.)
  • Pitching media proactively and securing high-impact, on-strategy coverage
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with reporters, editors, and influencers
  • Developing and managing thought leadership platforms that elevate our clients level of authority
  • Preparing client spokespeople for media opportunities
  • Advising on integrated amplification across social and digital channels
  • Tracking performance, extracting insights, and continuously refining approach
  • Exploring and thoughtfully using tools, including AI, to support research, content development, and workflow efficiency while maintaining high standards for accuracy, quality, and judgement

This is an opportunity for you to work alongside some of Boston’s leading PR, marketing, digital, and creative talent, with real opportunity to grow quickly, take on responsibility, and shape the work. This role offers exposure to a wide range of clients and the chance to stretch both your strategic thinking and creative instincts.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to commute to our Boston office 2x/week (Tuesday and Wednesday)
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of PR experience (agency or in-house, ideally within an agency environment)
  • Demonstrated success securing meaningful media coverage
  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Sharp news judgment and the ability to move quickly and strategically
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Confidence working directly with clients and contributing to strategic conversations
  • A proactive, high-energy approach with a strong sense of ownership

This is a Boston-based role. All employees are expected to work from our office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The salary range for this position is $68,000–$78,000 annually, with compensation determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and market data. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative environment focused on delivering thoughtful, high-impact work.

CTP is an equal opportunity employer committed to building and maintaining an inclusive workplace. If you require a reasonable accommodation during the application process or once employed, please contact our Human Resources team. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
